• The last couple of weeks I’ve been rather light on in my dedication to Carbon Challenge goals as we were pressing ahead with getting our study completed! I’ve been working on a hidden desk bunk bed with a friend […]

Anyone in need of a compost aerating tool? @Pod @Swanney @Tracey @Stanwix anyone else? I have one up for grabs that I don’t need, first to request it will be the new owner! :-)

@Tracey I can’t seem to comment on your conversation with @Wombat01 (@ecoaction do you know what is going on?) but if you have raspberry plants going begging I’d be very grateful to receive some!!!

  • @ecoaction I’d love to get to some I missed, like No dig garden & seed sowing.

I’ve loved the worm farm, composting and permaculture workshops and of course the investing in energy efficiency was brilliant too! […]

  • @Pod I presented the Chemical Free Cleaning workshop, so let me know if you have any questions! :-)

  • @Wombat01 I think I need to get food plants in the garden before I start spending too much time learning about espalier! :-)

  • @Wombat01 thanks for the heads up!

  • More great ideas, oh this CEC workshop learning thing is becoming a bit of an obsession.. Hehehe

  • Interesting! I’d be keen to learn more!

  • @Wombat 01 I’m using fabric paint for… It’s taking a while, but it’s been fighting for my attention with bunk bed building!!!

  • @Wombat01 our current down lights are not LEDs… I’m in the process of investigation. I’ve got two LED globes to try in our fittings – they’re around $35 each so not cheap!

  • @Wombat01 shock horror, the super energy efficient house needs something extra?! ;-) Hehehe. I’m working on the LED lights in our place… And chooks, when I can get hubby to agree!

In reply to: Tracey posted an update My compost is coming along, hopefully I will have some ready in time to plant my summer veggies out in a couple of weeks. View

Great! I might need to cheat this year and buy my seedlings if I’m going to grow anything at all!

In reply to: Tracey posted an update Week 2 of my Permaculture Design Course tomorrow. So far it’s been a practical way to dissect the humongous text book we’re following. View

I might do that one day! Hope you’re enjoying it!

In reply to: Wombat01 posted an update Good to see the rain but I hope it stops so I can get into the garden without sinking in the mud. View

We’ll know where to look if you stop frequenting the carbon challenge pages! :-)

@Anna21 @Wombat01 do either of you need a compost airer thingy? After winning the compost bin at the workshop with an aerator I now have two, so happy to share if you don’t have one and would find it beneficial for your composting! :-)

    • Thanks, @Taryn – nice of you to ask. I’m happy with our current system.

    • @Taryn thanks for the offer. I already have one. Maybe you can bring it to the next workshop and see if anyone needs one.

Ah, what a big day… Permaculture Design was great! Good to do some practical design practice with @Wombat01! Sent hubby to get more varnish for the bunk bed while I did a tip run & picked up four pallets I got off free cycle (I feel a vertical garden coming on & hopefully a potting bench… Eventually)! I spent the evening varnishing until I had…[Read more]

Yes @Pod it is funny how people find it super confronting when you decide to do something they see as left of centre! Showing up their own insecurities I think!

In reply to: Wombat01 posted an update What a beautiful day. It looks like it will be a perfect weeken for planting a few seedlings. My pakchoy and marigolds have already sprouted after less than a week. View

Ah, you keep showing me up on the gardening & seedling front!

In reply to: Wombat01 posted an update Had a great time at the permaculture zoning workshop today. It was good to do a practical design exercise. I hope to use some of these ideas in my own garden.. It may be a slow process […] View

Ah yes, hopefully we all will… Eventually!
